Is it too soon to be thinking about 2024 goals?

It’s officially one of my favorite weeks of the year. It’s the week when my favorite planners for next year come out. Each year, this week makes me think about what I want for the coming year and how I’m going to achieve it.

Is early October too soon to be thinking about next year’s goals? I don’t think so. I think it is perfect timing because there is honestly so much more we could do for ourselves if we give ourselves time to plan out our goals before actually getting started on them.

Giving ourselves a few hours during the week after Christmas but before January 1st isn’t enough time to really game plan how we are going to become the best version of ourselves in the coming year.

This is why I think starting the process of thinking about your goals for next year should begin in October.

Tools to help you goal plan:

Each year for the past several years, I have purchased (and talked a lot about) the goal planning system that has changed my life. I purchased it with my own money; this is not in any way a sponsored post.

I don’t think I would have accomplished even half of the things I have if it wasn’t for this system that gets my goals strategized and written out in front of me each day.

I truly believe my goal planner has helped me accomplish:

  • Earning six figures blogging.

  • Building my first house.

  • Creating and launching my own digital products.

  • Losing 70lbs.

  • Attending over 150 pilates classes.

The goal planner I use is from Cultivate What Matters, and it’s called the PowerSheets.

I love the PowerSheets because it allows me to do my yearly, quarterly, monthly, weekly, and daily goal strategizing all in one place.

The reason I wanted to talk about this right now is also because, most of the time, PowerSheets will sell out before the end of the year, and because I believe they are so life-changing, I want you to get a chance to get them before they're gone.

Secret Discount: This year, after getting asked about my goal planner each year for the past few years, I finally reached out to Cultivate What Matters and asked them if they had any programs for creators, and they do so if you want your own goal planner after reading this post you can click here and get 10% off for being a reader of my blog! I wish I asked before buying my own planner for next year because I paid the full price for mine, lol.

Now, let me break down exactly what I love about this goal planner and why I believe it’s life-changing.

Yearly Goal Planning

Now, this isn’t a typical planner. You’re not going to be writing out your random daily to-do list and putting dentist appointments on the calendar. This is a planner meant just for strategizing your goals for the year and tracking your progress. You can use it in conjunction with or without any normal planner.

The planner starts with about 50 pages of annual prep work. This is my favorite part, honestly; from the time I finish it, I’m looking forward to next year so that I can do it all over again.

In the prep work, you will outline what you want your life to feel like, what you want to do less of, and what you want to do more of. By the end of the prep work, you’ll have picked a word for the year, made your vision board, picked up to 8 big goals to focus on in the coming year, and broken them down into more bite-sized action items.

It honestly takes more than a week to just get through this section if you are doing it right and really sitting with each page and taking a mental deep dive into what you want.

The reason prep work is so life-changing is because it actually tells you how to break down your life into sections, how to break down goals, and what kind of goals you should set to make progress.

Every self-help influencer or successful coach tells you to set goals and make a vision board, but they don’t actually tell you where to start, what to consider, and what type of goals you should set. I feel like before I got my PowerSheets for the first time, I was really bad at setting realistic goals and breaking them down because I didn’t know how to take my full life into consideration when it came to setting goals.

Quarterly Refresh

Life changes quickly, so it can be hard to plan everything you want to accomplish in a year before that year even begins and stick to it. For example, this year, I got pregnant a few months into the year, which obviously required me to tweak some of my goals. Specifically, I was training to run a half marathon at Disney that is scheduled only a few weeks after my due date. Don’t think that’s in the cards for me anymore, LOL.

That’s where quarterly refreshes come in. In your quarterly refresh, you’re going to review how each area of your life is going and if you’re happy with that or would like to change something. Then, you’ll break down what habits are coming with you into the next quarter and what you want to leave in the past.

Then, you’ll outline the daily routines you want to have for the coming quarter and even a separate weekend routine for those of us who have days off we treat differently. Then, you’ll get to choose eight goals you plan on working on for the rest of the year. They can be the same or different from the ones you selected at the beginning of the year, depending on where your life is currently.

Monthly, Weekly, & Daily Goal Planning

Before the next month begins, you’ll do your monthly prep work. In your monthly prep, you will break down what important things you’ve got going on, things on your calendar, things that are on your mind, and do a quick evaluation of how each area of your life is going by giving each area a score of 1-10.

Each month, you will get a page where you can break down each of your monthly goals into smaller action items that will help you accomplish your monthly goal, and then, hopefully, that monthly goal will get you closer to accomplishing one of your big eight goals for the year.

For each month, you’ll also get what they call a tending list. This is a page where you get to break down what you want to accomplish this month to get closer to your goals; then, you can break that up into things you can do each week and things you want to do each day and use the tending list to track your progress.

Here is my tending list for this month; it’s a lot simpler than normal, given that I’m in my third trimester now:

If this post has inspired you to join me in goal planning for 2024, I highly recommend getting a PowerSheets goal planner. Especially since they are offering 10% off to my audience for a limited time, all you have to do is click here and use this link to shop.

There are 100 things you can buy from Cultivate What Matters to add to your goal-planning journey, but I truly believe the only thing you need is the PowerSheets. you can skip the stickers, pens, tape, other planners, and pouches. They are great add-ons, but they aren’t going to make this goal-setting system work any better or worse for you.

Not sure if the goal planner is for you?

If you want to accomplish more in 2024, I highly recommend getting this goal planner. I have always been a motivated and achiever type personality, but I have been able to accomplish so much more and actually stay on track with the help of this planner.

If you have any specific questions about the planner, you can leave a comment below, email me, or read more about the planner here on the Cultivate What Matters website.

Secret Discount: Like I said earlier in the post, you do get a secret discount for being a reader of my blog. All you have to do to get the 10% discount is click here, and you should see the discount in your cart when you go to check out.
